Assembly on expansion of Daffiama-Dakyie irrigation facility
The District Assembly yesterday received a team from the European Union and German cooperation (GIZ) under the Market Oriented Agricultural Programme (MOAP- UW) in the district.

The visit was to enable fruitful dialogue between the team, assembly and opinion leaders in the area on how best to expand the Dakyie Irrigation Dam to improve agriculture.

Speaking in an interview, District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area, Nadi Imoro Sanda underscored the importance of expansion of the dam, adding that the project will boost irrigation cultivation, livestock rearing and for domestic purposes.

The project he added will the district plan for all year round agriculture production to feed the country and world at large.

He said it was an important strategy in agriculture for the assembly through its development partners to harness water to support the growth of food and raw materials in the country.

He expressed appreciation to the team from the European Union and German cooperation for the support and called for more of such supports in the district.
