Kintampo North Constituency elects Mr. Joseph Kwame Kumah for NDC

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has elected Mr. Joseph Kwame Kumah as the parliamentary candidate for the party in the the Kintampo North Constituency for the 2020 elections.

Joseph Kwame Kumah, beat three other contestants including Richard Kwadwo Kombat, Victoria Lakshmi Hamah and Abdul-Rahman Yakubu to secure that vital spot for the 2020 elections.

The NDC held Parliamentary Primaries across the nation, except five (5) constituencies to select parliamentary aspirants as the party gears itself towards election 2020.

At the end of the contest, Mr. Joseph Kwame Kumah won the rights to go into the 2020 parliamentary elections as parliament candidate for the NDC. He pulled 532 votes with his closest contestant, Richard Kwadwo Kombat getting 486 votes. Abdul-Rahman Yakubu acquired 207 votes beating Victoria Laksmi Hamah who found herself at the bottom of the log with 65 votes adding to her defeat in the previous primaries. Seven (7) ballots were rejected and three (3) ballots were unaccounted for, out of the 1,300 voters.

It was the end of the road for Parliamentary candidate elect, Mr. Joseph Kame Kumah after Mr. Kwasi Etu-Bonde declined to contest in this year’s primaries.

The elections were supervised by the regional secretariat of the party and coordinated by the Kintampo North NDC elections coordinator, Mr. Samuel Baani with the support of the Electoral Commission of Ghana. The results were declared by Mr. Solomon Kipo (Presiding Officer).
                                                       

Voters were drawn from the nine (9) polling station executives of the NDC in all polling stations in the constituency, party executives in the constituency and former Member of Parliament and former Municipal Chief Executives.
