It is part of projects to be undertaken by the Assembly with funding from the District Development Facility (DDF).

Mr. Isaac Osei, District Chief Executive (DCE), said the construction of the mechanized boreholes are vital for the improvement of the socio-economic lives of the people and urged the beneficiary communities to show keen interest to ensure that they completed on time.

Addressing Chiefs and community members at separate sod cutting ceremonies, the DCE said, the government is committed to providing portable water which would go a long way to improve the health of the populace and to enhance the living conditions of the people.

“It is said that water is life and for that, having access to portable water is a step to good health.” He said.

He expressed concern about the manner in which some projects had been executed in the past, leading to the breaking down of many of these water facilities and cautioned the contractors Kolong Works Enterprise against shoddy works.
