DCE engages his constituents on radio
The District Chief Executive of Berekum West , Mr. Dominic Oppong on Thursday, 20th July, 2023 had a novel interaction with the good people of Berekum West District through a community radio station, Adikanfo 99.1 FM in Jinijini, the District’s capital.

This was to get the people informed about the achievements of the government which plays a pivotal role in the district.
Speaking on the developmental issues and his vision for the District, the DCE commended the Member of Parliament for Berekum West Constituency for his massive support to the development of the District. Mr. Dominic Oppong said the MP, Kwaku Agyenim Boateng has always been a bastion of hope to the District Assembly as far as infrastructural development is concerned.
.“Let me take this opportunity to thank the Member of Parliament who has been a pillar for development and of tremendous help to the District and the District Assembly”, he stated. He added that, he and the MP sometimes spend many hours of time discussing developmental issues deep in the night.
The DCE, when quizzed by the host of the Morning Show Mr. Justice Bernard Dankwa on his contribution to school infrastructure and development, revealed that about seventy percent (70%) of the entire Assembly’s revenue goes into education. He mentioned Fetentaa, Amankwokwaa, Botokrom, Jinijini and Ayimom as the communities that have benefited from his school projects.
“These communities have got school desks and one number 3-unit Classroom blocks each with ancillary facilities. Sod cutting for the construction of one number 3-unit classroom block has also been made and works have started at Domfeteh and Nkyenkyemam government schools' ', he added.
He assured listeners that these projects will be completed as soon as possible. He further mentioned that Amankokwaa School will also have one number 6-unit classroom block which is a central government project lobbied by the Member of Parliament.
On Agriculture, the DCE applauded gallant Farmers and the Agricultural department of Berekum West District Assembly for their massive contribution to the development of Agriculture. He mentioned that the Assembly has distributed about fifty thousand (50000) and twenty thousand (20000) cashew and coconut seedlings respectively to farmers within the District.
He also hinted that 80km of cocoa roads have been awarded to contractors across the district.
