PWDs in Berekum West trained in soap making
The Berekum West District Assembly through the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development organized Soap Making training for about thirty (30) Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Jinijini and its environs.

The Head of the Department Miss Ida Georgina Achana In her address, opined that, the government over the years has supported people living with disability through her department financially and items for their living.
However, her outfit through the support of the District Chief Executive Mr. Dominic Oppong, the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Charles Asamoah and the staff of the Berekum West District Assembly intend to complement the government's efforts by training them to be able to make a living out of Soap making.
She also added that all participants of the training will be given Capital to set up their business in Soap Making.The Managing Director of Asking Services in Berekum, Mr. Kingsford Atta Owusu who was the resource person for the training was impressed with how attentive the trainees listened to him and learnt.
He urged them to make good use of the training and the opportunity to make ends-meet and empower themselves economically. Some of the members of the PWDs also expressed their appreciation to the Assembly especially the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development.
“On behalf of my colleagues, we are grateful to the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development of Berekum West District Assembly for this training. We can assure them that we will put the training into practice and make a living out of it. However, we would like to appeal to the Assembly once again and the public to continue supporting us with capital to make the Soap in large quantities".
