Eight of the beneficiaries were presented with one thousand Cedis each while two other persons were given medical support. The items were handed over to the beneficiaries at the forecourt of the Chief’s palace at Jinijini by the District Chief Executive (DCE) Mr. Isaac Osei.

Speaking shortly before the presentation, the DCE said the government was committed to improving the welfare and livelihoods of all Ghanaians including People Living with Disabilities in the Berekum west district and advised beneficiaries to put the items to good use and save proceeds from the businesses they operate in order to maintain their lives and families.

He added that the government took the decision to procure and distribute start-up kits to beneficiaries instead of cash to ensure that beneficiaries have something to live on.

Beneficiaries of the items were full of praise for the government for the gesture and promised to make good use of the items to improve their lot.
