Daasebre made the pledge when the DCE paid a courtesy call on the traditional council at Berekum.
He asked for collaboration between the district assembly and the traditional council for the development of the young district, and assured Mr. Oppong of his unflinching support. “My doors are opened for consultation and any assistance that you and the Assembly may need.” Sub-chiefs of the Traditional council took turns to advise the DCE and urged him to be honest in his dealings to bring honour to his people.
Addressing the Traditional Council, the DCE Mr. Oppong said, his visit was to introduce himself to the council, express his heartfelt gratitude to them for the support accorded him during his nomination, confirmation and swearing into office, as well as seek their blessings and support in the discharge of his duties.
“I have come here today to seek your blessings and to ask for your support and cooperation to enable me and my officers to successfully discharge our duties.” He said.
Mr. Oppong used the occasion to outline his visions and plans to bring development to the district.
He said that, uncompleted projects such as upgrading and leveling of roads and school buildings left by his predecessor would be completed to enhance the living conditions of the populace.
The DCE pledged to collaborate with Nananom in all spheres to bring socio-economic development to the people of the Berekum West District.
