The distribution exercise was carried out when she paid a working visit to some selected registration centres on the last day (day-6) of the first Phase.

The Municipal Electoral Officer Madam Christiana Opoku first briefed the Minister noting that 7, 647 people were registered in the first phase.

The Regional Minister commended the Electoral Commission for exhibiting professionalism and well outlined comprehensive plan, not only to get eligible Ghanaian voters onto the New 2020 Voter Register but also concerned about the health of the people.

The duo distributed the Personal Protection Equipment (PPEs) to all applicants in the queue at the Centres and the team of Officials and staff of the Electoral Commission, beginning from the Main Municipal EC Office Registration Centre and continued to some of the centres at Tromeso and Buoku-Junction.

The Minister said she chose PPEs over any form of support package in this crucial time of what has become the new normal against the novel Coronavirus because the health of the citizenry was more paramount to the government. She urged all qualified persons to register while adhering to the safety protocols.
