He assured of government’s resilience to ensure higher educational standards especially in the rural communities adding that, government cannot achieve this alone but rather with active commitment and support by other stakeholders including teachers and parent.

Addressing the people at this year’s 61st Independence Day celebration at Akwatia, the DCE revealed that, the Assembly has instituted a scholarship scheme for needy but brilliant students in the district to help assist their education to higher heights.

Mr. Birikorang encouraged students to learn hard to become responsible citizens in future. He added that, students shouldn’t disappoint their parents and teachers.

He urged students to exhibit positive moral in the society and cautioned them against drugs abuse and other immoral practices.

He therefore expressed appreciation to the Member of Parliament (MP) for Akwatia, Mrs. Mercy Adu Gyamfi, various Departmental Heads, Chiefs, Clergy, and Assembly members in the District for their assistance and self-dedication towards the development of the district.
