Denkyembour district holds planning coordinating unit meeting
The District Planning Coordinating Unit (DPCU) held a meeting to discuss the review of the mid-year review of the Composite Annual Action Plan and presentation on the National District League Table.

The Chairman for the committee Alhaji Shamrock Abdulai Gafaru in his introductory remarks said there had been a lot of changes with regards to reporting to the Regional coordinating Council and the National Development Planning Council on issues of the various assemblies, hence the generation of new templates for reporting purposes, and urged members to pay keen attention to the various presentations that would be made during the course of the meeting.
The first item on the agenda was the presentation and discussion of the mid-year template of the 2023 Annual Action Plan.
The District Planning Officer, Mr. Mohammed Baba Abdulai led the presentation, highlighting the progress made so far in implementing the various projects and programs outlined in the 2023 Action Plan.
Key achievements were discussed, including the completion of infrastructure projects, the improvement of healthcare facilities, and the initiation of educational initiatives.
He urged all departments who needed revision to kindly do so and submit to the Planning office together with their progress report.
The District Planning Officer assured the participants that their inputs would be duly considered, and adjustments would be made accordingly to address the concerns raised.
The second item on the agenda was the presentation of the National District League Table (DLT) score and ranking.
The District Planning Officer presented an overview of the DLT, emphasizing its significance in measuring the performance of districts across various sectors.
The District's score and ranking were disclosed, indicating both areas of progress and areas that required further attention.
Following the presentation, a detailed analysis was provided, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of the district's performance in education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, and other relevant sectors.
Participants expressed satisfaction with the district's overall performance but acknowledged the need for continued efforts to address the identified areas for improvement.
Overall, Denkyembour District Assembly was ranked 68th out of 260 districts and attained a score of 70.171.
There were discussions also on the decisions taken during the last General Assembly Meeting and how to implement those decisions.
The District Coordinating Director assigned those duties to the designated officers to handle and report back to his office by the end of the week.
The District Coordinating Director, in his closing remarks, expressed gratitude to all members for their active participation and reiterated their commitment to addressing the identified challenges and working collectively towards the development and prosperity of the Denkyembour District.
