Assembly holds Executive committee meeting

The Denkyembour District Assembly has held an Executive Committee meeting to co-ordinate projects and programmes of various sub-committees and submit comprehensive proposal to the Assembly for necessary action.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area, Mr. Seth Ofosu Birikorang, in his remarks expressed his gratitude to all members and Heads of Departments for their constant support and thanked them for playing in their respective responsibilities in the just ended 37th National Farmers’ Day Celebration.

He assured that, all recommendations presented by various Head of departments would be taken to the general assembly for further deliberations and approval.


The Sports and Culture sub-committee, in its presentation recommended to the Assembly to purchase some table tennis boards to the five educational circuits within the Assembly to enhance sports development in the district.

The administration Sub-committee on Finance and works presented issues pertaining to the improvement of revenue collection, especially building permit and property rates within the district whiles the Justice and Security and Social Services sub-committee emphasized on the need of improving security within the district.


According to the committee, this can be achieved through the provision of streetlights.

On his its part, the Development Planning and Environmental sub-committee suggested a purchase of a rice milling machine for the assembly and also slaughter houses within the district.
