The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Denkyembour, Hon. Urma Armed, disclosed this to GhanaDistricts TV on the sidelines of the Eastern Expo held in Koforidua, the regional capital.

According to the DCE, the waterfall, located at Apenamang, is a significant natural asset with strong potential to promote eco-tourism and provide recreational opportunities for both residents and visitors.

He explained that the site had been captured in the District Assembly’s planning documents as a potential tourism destination, although it currently remains largely undeveloped in its natural state.

Hon. Urma Armed said the Assembly was interested in showcasing the waterfall and developing the necessary facilities to make the site accessible and attractive to tourists.

He noted that developing the attraction could contribute to economic activity within the district while creating opportunities for local communities to benefit from tourism.

The DCE therefore called for support and collaboration from relevant stakeholders to help develop the Apenamang waterfall into a viable tourism destination in the Eastern Region.
