ABURA: Moree get new recreational centre

A new recreational centre for fisher folks in Moree in the Abura –Asebu-Kwamankese District in the central Region has been commissioned.

A new recreational centre for fisher folks in Moree in the Abura –Asebu-Kwamankese District in the central Region has been commissioned.

The project estimated at twenty thousand Ghana cedis (GHs20, 000) was one of the self-help projects initiated by the some members of the community as part of efforts to some value to their social life.

Addressing the gathering, District Chief Executive for the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District, William Atta Mends commended the "Gentle Brothers", the mother group of the thirty five young fishermen who initiated and contributed financially towards the completion of their dream.

He described the initiative as a step in the right direction not only helping government and the assembly to meet the developmental needs of their community but ensuring that an important centre to bring together people for socialization is made available to the community, adding that recreation is important to refresh the body after a hard day’s work.

The place will also be used for social meetings among others and the DCE promised to provide the needed facilities like ludo, oware and playing cards among others to make the centre more useful.
