Mr Imoro Adam was over the weekend confirmed as the District Chief Executive for the East Mamprusi District to run the administration of the assembly for a second four-year term.

Mr Adam, the President’s nominee, polled 37 votes out of a total of 50 valid votes, representing 74 per cent, in an election supervised by Mr Sylvester Kanyi, Northern Regional Director of the Electoral Commission.

Mr Adam thanked the president for retaining him and the Overlord of the Mamprugu Traditional Area, Nayiri Naabohagu Mahami Abdulai Sheriga for assisting him throughout his first tenure and subsequent endorsement, which had paid off for the confirmation.

He promised to continue with the ongoing development projects in the district and gave the assurance that the district would experience a tremendous infrastructure development to improve the living standards of the people.

He said education, job creation and agriculture would be among some of the major priorities of his administration to ensure the needed socio-economic transformation.

Mr Adam used the occasion to refute allegations of misappropriation of public office and challenged anybody who had evidence against him to prove it, instead of casting slurs on him, adding that, he was ready to welcome all divergent views for the smooth administration of the assembly.

Mr Bede Ziendeng, Northern Regional Minister, who earlier appealed to the Assembly Members to vote massively to confirm the nominee, commended all the nine Assemblies in the region for confirming all the nominees without difficulty and appealed to the remaining ones to do same.

He commended Mr Adam for his dedication to work and commitment to the development of the area and advised him to pay particular attention to youth and women issues since they formed a chunk of his support base.
