The worrying trend of people struggling to access potable water in many communities across the country continue to receive attention from authorities as they continue to explore options to address the situation.
In the Krachie East District in the Volta Region, the assembly with its development partners has prioritized the issue and made some significant achievements in this regard.
A water scheme initiated by the district assembly for the Dambai (Gbanzada-Dambai) community is at advance stage and expected to be completed soon. The facility is believed to produce enough water to supply the entire community with potable water and this would mitigate the usual hustle for water for domestic use.
In a related development, Water Health, a non governmental organization operating in the district is also assisting two communities including Asawkawkaw and Dambai with water processing facilities that would pump raw surface water for treatment and distribution to households in the said communities.
Already, the Asawkawkaw project has been completed and residents are enjoying good water while the one at Dambai is still under construction.
