The current acting Presiding Member, Desmond Tutu Paul’s tenure expired last year compelling the assembly to elect a new PM but it has been difficult since.
The contest which was initially between two candidates, Yayah Trawule and Osei Abraham, ended up with only Yayah Trawule going to the poll after Osei Abraham stepped down.
Some Assembly members also boycotted the process midway and never took part in the election.
During voting, Hon. some Hon. Members present decided not to vote and boycotted the house.
In effect, the candidate failed to obtain the 2/3 majority of votes cast leaving the assembly still without a substantive Presiding Member.
Due to the turn-out of events, the assembly could not continue with the remaining agenda for the day.
