President visit North Dayi District
His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, the President of the Republic of Ghana paid a working visit to North Dayi District on Tuesday the 5th of November, 2019.

At a gathering of chiefs, people of Vakpo, the staff and students of the Vakpo Secondary Technical school preceding the cutting of tape, the Headmistress, Vivieene Akosua Dzifa Sessi of the school praised the President for the introduction and implementation of the Free SHS policy indicating that the policy had close to 330% increase in enrollment from 2016/2017 academic year to 2019/2020 academic year.
Again, as the Headmistress praised the president for his tremendous contribution to the education sector, she admitted the fact that the school is still being challenged in several ways. She mentioned the challenges to include but not limited to lack of school bus, inadequate office accommodation for administration purposes, lack of an Assembly and a Dining Halls, and to control the movement of students, encroaching upon school land invading the school premises by the public, she added that the School needs a fence wall around it.
The President through the Minister for Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, promised to provide the school with a bus and Administration Block as quickly as possible since the two items are the most pressing needs of the School, whilst the other challenges are addressed gradually.
His Excellency Nana Akufo Addo in his address was grateful for the warm reception extended him.
He spoke on the importance of the Free SHS policy with the aim to increase enrollment and make education accessible to the citizenry. Again, he told the students to take their studies seriously in order to pass with flying colours to put their critics to shame.
He promised to have the school fenced.
As part of his activities, he commissioned a 500 capacity Dormitory block at Vakpo Secondary Technical School and Vakpo Secondary School in the District.
