North Dayi benefits from 1 million per constituency projects

The District Chief Executive of North Dayi, Kudjoh Attah, has cut the sod for the construction of a storm drain at Anfoega Lorry Park in the North Dayi Constituency of the Volta Region as part of the Constituency’s allocation of one million dollars under the Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Programme (IPEP).

The DCE was assisted by the clergy, market women, traditional leaders, assembly members and some constituency executives of the area to signal the commencement of construction works for the new modern lorry park which is expected to accelerate economic and social development by boosting trade, empowering communities and strengthening families in the district.

According to the DCE, the project is expected to be completed within 6 months.

Aside from the work on the storm drain, the district with funding from the Coastal Development Authority (CoDA) is currently undertaking other projects in North Dayi in the areas of education, health, and social inclusion and protection.



In education, North Dayi has benefited from an ultra-modern kitchen and water system at VASTECH, a 10-seater water closet with biodigesters to be powered by solar which is under construction at Anfoesec, Vastech and the Catholic Hospital, Anfoega.

The forecourt of the Anfoega Police Command will be cemented with concrete stamps; the road from the hospital junction to the administration will be given a facelift and Vakpo Konda to benefit from a six-unit classroom for the first in decades to improve quality of health, education, and security of communities.

Also, there is an ongoing art gallery project at Vakpo for carvers, and 5 health facilities will also benefit from placenta pits and incinerators among others.
