EJISU: Child protection and advocacy partners attend training workshop

A day’s workshop has been organized for partners in child protection and advocacy issues on case management and intersectoral standard operation procedures last Wednesday at the health directorate’s conference room at Ejisu.

Mr. Godfred Abogo, the principal speaker and the resource person took participants through the various intersectoral standards operations procedures and referrals of cases. He mentioned the police, GES, the health services, social welfare officers (dept), and the information services department (ISD) as key players in implementing successful intersectoral case management.

He stressed that some of the cases can be classified as high risk, medium, and low-risk cases. High risked cases according to him are those that the victim’s life is considered to be in danger, the medium risk is that which does not pose an immediate danger to the victim whiles low-risk ones are the ones that may take few months or six months for the danger to be noticed.

Mr. Abogo said high-risk cases are to be reported immediately to the authorities concerned for necessary actions to be taken; So that the victim’s life would not be endangered.

He stated that all partners needed to work together in order to achieve a better result. Adding that in all cases management the police must be part or involved for the successful execution of the case.

Partners present at the progrmme were, the police ser., health, NCCE, social welfare, ISD, community development, NGOs and representatives from the traditional authorities.
