The project, according to information gathered by Ghanadistricts.com was funded under the Ghana–Spain Department Swap for Development Programme.

The bride, which has not seen any form of rehabilitation works for decades eventually, became a significant source of growing number of road accidents in the area. Traders at the Northern side of the district now prefer going to the neighboring district capital Kade for buying and selling purposes due to the bad nature of the said bridge.

However, the on-going project after completion will connect town like Takorase, Akim Wenchi, kusi and other villages to the District Capital and improve transportation in the area.

Confirming this in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area, Seth Birikorang Ofosu appealed to the residents to cooperate with contractors and bear the inconvenience that may arose as a result of the construction work.
