The assembly members most of whom were part of the immediate past assembly had the new members of the house backing them to press home their demand which was agreed at the first ordinary meeting that the payments would make before the next sitting.

During the first ordinary general meeting, the assembly members quarried the management and the MCE, Mad. Beatrice Serwaah Derkyi for the delay in payment of the monies but the MCE said there was not sufficient money to all of them hence the Maawirehene of the Ejisu paramount chief and also the chief of Donaso in the Ejisu traditional area and who is a govt appointee to the assembly pledged to pay the difference which was said to be Ghc 20,000.00 so that the members could be paid in full, and this the MCE confirmed the chief had given the money to the assembly.

But the assembly failed to honour their promise to pay the assembly members. Hence when it established that the chief has fulfilled his promise and it is the assembly that has failed to pay them, they decided to out of the meeting till their demands were heeded.

So the MCE together with management had to quickly agree to give in to their demand; but not until the check was signed and the finance officer went to the bank and came that the honourable assembly members agreed to continue with the meeting.
