YILO K:Assembly donates 200 bags of cement to Klo-Agogo Shs
The Yilo Krobo Municipal Assembly at its first ordinary meeting of the forth session of the fifth Assembly donated 200 bags of cements to the Management of Klo-Agogo Senior High School (SHS) to improve upon the school’s infrastructure.

The Yilo Krobo Municipal Assembly at its first ordinary meeting of the forth session of the fifth Assembly donated 200 bags of cements to the Management of Klo-Agogo Senior High School (SHS) to improve upon the school’s infrastructure.
This was a pledge earlier made by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Andrews Sodah on behalf of the Assembly.
The MCE in his sessional address said the Assembly exceeded its 2013 Budget by GH¢69, 134.32 representing 8.08%. He, however, said the Assembly overspent its 2013 Budget by GH¢69, 507.57 representing 8.13% which was as a result of investment made from its Internally Generated Fund (IGF) in capital projects.
For the first quarter of 2014, Mr Sodah said the Assembly had collected GH¢241,328.40 as revenue from its local sources representing 25.40% of its targeted annual figure of GH¢950,010.00. Alternatively, the Assembly also received a total amount of GH¢31, 218.68 as grants representing 0.50% of a targeted figure of GH¢6,356,270.20.
On Education, the MEC disclosed that the Assembly was facing some challenges regarding the land earmarked for the establishment of the Eastern Region University in Somanya, adding that a stakeholder meeting would be held sooner than later to discuss the emerging issues involving the land in question. The MCE therefore appealed to the members and the people of Yilo Krobo to ensure that the establishment of the Eastern University to be sited in Somanya becomes a reality.
Mr Sodah said some roads in the Municipality had been awarded to Messrs First Sky Limited and Messrs Max Kwei Limited which are ongoing at various levels. This includes roads; Trom–Kpong (15.3km), Slaughter House–Ogbudugbada – Akuse junction (2.2km), Somanya Presby–Akpese (1.8km) and Asitey–Adjikpo–Okwenya junction (10.2km) respectively.
On electricity, the MCE again disclosed that Ten (10) Communities in the Yilo Krobo Municipality would benefit from the ongoing Government Rural Electrification project as part of the first phase in the Municipality. The communities include; Ahinkwa, Koryire, Trawa, Opersika, Tsotsunya/Kokonte Factory, Osuboi, Akorwu Bana, Bosotsui, Bukunor and Akoley.
The Presiding Member (PM) Hon. Rita Akosua Awatey who opened the meeting, in her welcome address, thanked members for their commitment to the development of the Municipality and urged them to continue to play their roles in the development and welfare of the Municipality.
