Communities in the Asemese Electoral Area in the Yilo Krobo Municipal in the Eastern Region have appealed to the Ghana Education Service and the assembly to establish a school in the
area to help their course to educating their children.
The area used to have a primary school situated at Ahuzablem which served the three communities including Asemese, Momu and Ahuzablem.
However, the collapse of the school building some two years ago left the area without a school compelling residents to send their children to school in Somanya.
Attempts by Municipal assembly and the Ghana Education Service to put up a new structure failed following disagreement over where the
school should be sited. While others want it on a middle ground for easy accessibility by all communities, those from Ahuzablem want it where the old structure was. As such the assembly is still assessing and consulting to have the situation resolved.
Meanwhile, the Ahuzablem community organized a clean-up exercise in the community to clear the community of filths to promote healthy
living. The exercise was supported by the Municipal Assembly.
