YILO:Work progresses on Agogo Market toilet facility

Efforts by the Yilo Krobo Municipal Assembly to improve sanitation in the Agogo Market is on course as some of the projects towards achieving this feet are progressing well.

The assembly is putting up a 16-seater water closet toilet facility at the market to enable traders have easy access to the facility. That facility also contains bath and urinal.

Speaking to ghanadistricts.com, Andrews Sodah, Municipal Chief Executive said the assembly looks forward to improving social and economic infrastructure in the municipality and that the water closet toilet facility is one of them. The assembly did well by taking into account the welfare of people with disability in the design of the projects, and Mr. Sodah said the assembly would continue to give the necessary support for successful completion of the project which is currently at the roofing stage.

Agogo Market is one of the major markets in the Yilo Krobo Municipality as such traders from far and surrounding villages come over to do business there. However, inadequate sanitary facilities was affecting patronage hence the assembly’s decision to move in since it falls within its responsibility.
