Mr. Andrew Sodah, Municipal Chief Executive for the Yilo Krobo Municipality has hinted of plans for the upgrading of the Akutunya Market in Somanya.

This he noted would be carried out under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) to enssure the needed fund is injected for early complition and to ensure the market is given a modern status.

Addressing members of the assembly, the MCE indicated that for the actualization of the project, there was a need for resolution from the assembly to the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MOTI), Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (MOFEP) and Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD).

Mr Andrew said improved market infrastructrure is necessary not only to improve the revenue of the assembly but more importantly to ensure enhanced economic activites of peopel in the municipality.

He therefore made special appeal to assembly members to quickly discuss and pass a resolution on the matter for onward forwarding to the ministries mentioned above.
