World Vision calls for support for orphans, vulnerable World Vision in collaboration with USAID has called for protection and care for orphans and other vulnerable groups in society in order to ensure better lives for them.

World Vision calls for support for orphans, vulnerable World Vision in collaboration with USAID has called for protection and care for orphans and other vulnerable groups in society in order to ensure better lives for them.
The call was made at a stakeholders meeting organised for services providers including health insurance providers, social welfare officers, birth and death, community development and community based organisations.
The workshop was aimed among other things to gunner support to Strengthening Community Care and Support for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (SCASO) in the Yilo Krobo Municipality in the Eastern Region.
Madam Augustina Nartey, Regional CHPS coordinator and Samuel Mayeden, a representative from World vision said there was the need for caregivers and service providers to develop the habit of The SCASO project is a response to increasing the protection and provision of comprehensive development and integrated service to children orphaned by AIDS, children who have lost one or both parents through any cause, children living with chronically ill parents, children living in households where someone had been ill for more than three months, or children affected by HIV and AIDS.
Increasing OVC enrolment and attendance at basic, secondary and vocational training schools through provision of school supplies to 300 OVC, provision of scholarship to 30 OVCs in secondary schools, provision of scholarships to selected OVC for vocational or livelihood skills training and exploring sponsors from corporate bodies.
