The Nkaben Area Council in the Afigya-Kwabre District has elected new officers with a call to them to support the assembly to raise its revenue collection performance.

The Council, chaired by Mr Christian Adu-Poku, with Mr Duncan Nkrumah Poku as secretary, should do everything to make sure that people in the area paid their rates and levies.

The 13-councillors are made up of assembly and unit committee members.

They are expected to stay in office until the end of the year when fresh district level elections would have been conducted.

The decision to replace the old executive at its meeting held at Nkukua-Buoho, formed part of efforts to inject vibrancy and make the council more functional.

Mr Ebenezer Ntow-Ayisi, an Assistant Director at assembly, urged them to be accountable and to focus on the job of helping to bring progress to the communities.

He advised them to meet regularly to discuss solutions to socio-economic challenges faced by people and assist to educate the population on government policies and programmes.

Mr Anning Osei Yaw, the Presiding Member, urged them to hold together and work with unity of purpose to make things happen.

Mr Adu-Poku vowed they would not disappoint.
