Reports from Wulensi, the district capital of the Nanumba South district in the Northern Region indicate that personnel from the security agencies have intensified their patrols of the area.
This follows Tuesday’s riot in the area over the re-nomination of the current District Chief Executive for Nanumba South, Alhaji Seidu Amidu.
The angry youth who claim they are supporters of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) violently expressed their displeasure over President John Mahama’s decision to retain the Nanumba South DCE.
One of the assigned reasons for the hostilities was that Alhaji Amidu failed to deliver in line with the NDC’s better Ghana agenda.
He has also been accused of his divide and rule tactics so far as the Wulensi NDC party machinery is concerned.
The youth have therefore served notice of causing mayhem in the area if President Mahama does not rescind his decision.
Alhaji Amidu was the only sitting DCE nominee on the list of six Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives released for the Northern and Upper East regions.
