The Nanumba South District Assembly is still opening up the implementation of street lighting projects to strengthen security  in all  areas of the district.

A total of 12 communities have currently been dispensed with street lighting facilities including Chisulni, Wulewa, Binda, Nasamba, Nakpanyili and Montanaya.

The rest are Opijua, Kanjo, Kabreya, Moba and Lungni all in the Nanumba South district.

District Chief Executive for the area, Alhaji Seidu Amidu in an interaction with Ghanadistricts.com, reiterated that the project was discharged from the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) to ostensibly assist stem crime activities in the area.

The street lighting project seriously undertaken by government in the Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDA’s) is aimed at ensuring the universal access to street lighting infrastructure in especially the towns and urban areas to help bring about public safety, security, beautification, as well as enhance socio-economic development of the country.
