More schools in the Nanumba South district have been incorporated into the Ghana School Feeding Programme to increase the number of schools benefiting from the programme entirely in the district.
As a result of this, from an initial figure of four schools that were formerly considered under the programme, a minimum of 19 schools have presently been covered to promote the school feeding programme.
This has also relatively reflected in a surge in the total number of pupils being fed under the programme from 1,618 to 6,472 indicating a percentage increase of 48.54% in the area.
However speaking in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, the District Chief Executive for the area, Alhaji Amidu Seidu said that the development meant an attraction of more school kids into schools which has manifested in the increase in school enrollment in various schools being placed under the programme.
Some of the beneficiary schools now includes Nakpayili English/Arabic primary, Wulensi Tahiriyah English/Arabic primary, Lungeni primary school, Jema primary and the rest.
