The Nanumba South District Assembly has distributed 72 brand new laptop computers to 3 Junior High Schools to improve the teaching and learning of  Information Communication Technology (ICT) in the area.

The beneficiary schools are Nabayiri, Nasamba and Opejua Junior High Schools.

Speaking in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, the District Chief Executive (DCE), Alhaji Seidu Amidu, said that the move was aimed at strengthening the study of ICT in the area.

He therefore advised beneficiary students to grab the opportunity offered and ensure the proper usage of the facility.

Touching on the just ended bio-metric registration exercise, the DCE revealed that about 36,358 eligible voters had their names and finger prints captured on the bio-metric registration machine to enable them exercise their franchise come December 2012 general election.

Although Mr. Amidu admitted there were hithces in the exercise, he said the registration officials worked judiciously to fix all of such problems.

He also commended residents for their tolerance which yielded peace and stability in the district during the biometric voter registration exercise.
