Seven boreholes have been drilled for some selected communities
in the Nkwanta South District in the Volta Region.

The effort is a measure by the district assembly to alleviate challenges those communities are confronted with in accessing potable water.

It is noted that residents in some of those communities had to rely on water from unwholesome sources usually from streams and rivers. Therefore, drilling of the boreholes is welcome news to them.

Beneficiary communities according to the district chief executive, Joseph Nyofam Ninkab include Nkwanta Town with 3 boreholes, 1 each at Bonakye, Kue, Kpandai New Town.

The DCE assured that other communities that are equally in need are being considered for possible extension of similar assistance.
