Three communities in the Nkwanta South District in the Volta Region now have their problem with school infrastructure solved with the construction and commissioning of modern classroom blocks.

The 6-unit classroom blocks with ancillary facilities including library, staff room and sanitary facilities were financed through the Ghana Education Trust Fund, GETFund under the elimination of the “school under trees” project.

Beneficiary communities including Ofosu, B-Zongo and Old Agou held separate durbars to commission the facilities. They commended government for coming to their aid as lack of proper infrastructure was a major disincentive to pupils to embrace education.

Joseph Nyofam Ninkab, Chief Executive of the District urged parents to complement government effort by allowing their children to attend school to prepare them for brighter future. He called on them to be responsible parents and invest properly in the education of their children as the best legacy to bequeath to their children.

The DCE reminded the people of other interventions by government in the education sector including distribution of free school uniforms and exercise books, school feeding programme among others all geared towards making education affordable to all in the country.

He called for the active participation of all stakeholders in the education sector to improve standard of education in the district.
