Construction of the Nkwanta Market in the Nkwanta South district is on course, the District Chief Executive, Joseph Nyofam Ninkab has stated.

According to him, the district is determined to give meanings to its investment by completing the 40 stores and 80 market stalls it has heavily invested in with funds from its share of the district development facility.

He said the project is very important to open up the area for improved economic activities most importantly to marketing of farm produce as the place is noted for the production of agriculture produce.

According to him, there is high hope of economic progress following the construction of the eastern corridor road which when completed will make the area a major transit point for several vehicles and businessmen heading to the north and beyond.

He said construction of 40kilometers of the eastern corridor road from Nkwanta-Dodo Pepesu by Kanazoe Construction Company is on course and residents are excited and hopeful the project will go on smoothly to its logical conclusion so that benefits of improved road networks can be felt in the district.
