The Newly elected Presiding Member for the Gomoa East District Assembly, Fredrick Joe Arthur has vowed to work tirelessly in bringing to total development in the area.

He said the district was faced with numerous challenges and stressed the need to offer his assistance to the Assembly in solving those challenges.

Mr. Fredrick Arthur was elected new Presiding Member for the Assembly after pulling 34 of the 40 valid votes cast during a second balloting.

During an earlier voting both Mr. Arthur and Mr. Edward Mintah, Assembly member for Ekwamkrom Electoral Area, were not able to obtain the two-thirds majority required to win the election.

Mr. Arthur, in the first round, obtained 25 votes with Mr. Mintah polling 15 votes. Mr. Arthur meanwhile obtained the 34 votes later in a Yes or No election which was supervised by Mr. Tia Moses, the district’s Electoral Officer.
