After several years of studying under a make-shift structure, students of the Benso ’C’ Junior High School (JHS) in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region have benefited from a new 6-unit classroom to boost education in the area.

The project which is about 95 percent completed was funded through the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETfund).

Confirming this in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, the Assemblyman for the area, Kweku N. Koomson hailed government for the timely intervention after expressing worry on some of the critical situation that was facing both students and teachers in the school.

He was however hopeful that the project will help elevate education in the beneficiary school and the entire community to a preferred level.

Mr.Koomson further asserted that, electricity extension to the school will also be of good help to them since it will assist the teaching and learning of Information Communication Technology (ICT).

He said, with support from the Member of Parliament for the area, the school has been able to secure two brand new desktop computers to boost ICT study but also noted that the absence of electricity in the school will on the other hand downplay its purpose.
