Government has funded the construction of a new Post Office and Information Communication Technology (ICT) center at Afransi in the Gomoa West District in the Central Region.

The project which is currently at the foundation level is expected to be completed within a scheduled period of 4 months.

Assemblyman for the area, Dominic Ato Mensah, who disclosed this in a brief interview with Ghanadistricts.com, stated that the project was implemented after the Central Regional Minister, Ama Benyiwa-Doe’s visit to the area during the annually celebrated Akwambo festival.

According to the assemblyman, the minister who acknowledged the key role of ICT relative to the socio-economic development,however assured of government’s interest in ensuring accessibility of ICT facilities in every part of the country, "since the world is currently moving on the wheels of ICT".

Meanwhile, the assembly has also completed a 14 seater Water Closet (WC) toilet in a bid to improve sanitation in the area.
