The Executive Committee of the Ho West District Assembly has laid suggestions before the Assembly to redouble the efforts in promoting and developing Sports and Games amongst the youth of the area.

This comes on the heels of the influence made by the Regional Sports Secretariat in its latest initiative code-named ‘Youth Category Legacy’ fashioned out to develop Youth Sports Initiative Programmes and enhancing some selected disciplines amongst the youth across-board in the Ho West district.

In a recent sitting by the Assembly at Dzolo Kpuita in the Volta region, the Executive committee amongst other recommendations proposed to the Assembly to consider supporting and enhancing social activities, leisure and social interactions among the youth for the purpose of promoting peace and unity in the district.

Some of the major recommendations were the need for the Assembly to secure enough land for the development of ultra-modern sports complex for sporting activities.

It also suggested that an adequate budgetary allocation be made for sponsoring sporting activities in the area.

It however explained that such moves will help ‘to identify, unearth talents, nurture and develop all the promising youth to realize their full potentials in any discipline’.
