Asante Akim South Assembly distribute fridges to PWDs

The District Assembly’s Common Fund for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) is a fund geared to support PWDs to equip them in economic and business ventures, providing them with working tools to empower them to become economically viable.

In line with that, the Asante Akim South Municipal Assembly has distributed 30 fridges to people living with disability within the Municipality to add up to about 600 people who have received the same support from the Assembly.

Mr. Alexander Frimpong the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) pledged that the program would continue until each one of them is empowered in one way or the other.

He charged the Social Welfare Department to put in place monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to ensure that the purpose for which the government set aside the fund achieved the needed impact in the municipality and also institute remedial measures where there were shortfalls.

The beneficiaries thanked the government and the Assembly for remembering them and not making them feel left out.
