ASUTIFI N: 80% of Ghanaians die prematurely because they don't know their disease - Medical expert
The Chief Executive Officer for Care Life Dorifa Manufacturing Limited and Medical Superintendent of Dorifa Medical Center, Dr Wiafe Afrifa said about 80% of Ghanaians die prematurely because they don't know and have a fair knowledge of the disease affecting them in order to seek early treatment and cure.

"Many people are dying in the country for diseases which are preventable and curable had they sought early diagnosis and treatment" he bemoaned.
Dr Wiafe made this revelation at Ahafo kenyasi in the Asutifi north district of the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana when he led his team of professionals from the Dorifa medical center to organize a free health screening exercise for the mining towns and its environs dubbed "early health screening and diagnosis safe life"
The people of Ahafo kenyasi who are predominantly farmers with few traders and miners were screened on malaria typhoid, infertility and diabetes, skin diseases. Others include sexually transmitted diseases (STD), high blood pressure, sugar level, urine and counseling.
A participant, Kwabena Samuel, from Krakwasua in the Asutifi South district was happy to have been screened and counselled. "I now know my medical conditions and how to manage them for a strong and long life. I am thankful to Dr Dorifa and team", he cheerfully stated.
Madam Elizabeth Nsowaa from Atuahenekurom in the Asutifi North district paid a glowing tribute to Dr Dorifa and his team of professionals for such an amazing opportunity given to them. She edged Ghanaians to wholly embrace every health screening and diagnosis in order to keep them strong and alive.
The Medical Center were able to screened and diagnosed about three hundred and fifty people from Ahafo Kenyasi and its environs and later treated with Dorifa vigor A and B, Dorifa vigor plus and other medicine.
Dr Wiafe Afrifa said it is good for everyone to know his disease before taking medicine and you can know this by screening yourself thus this exercise.
"I am advising all and sundry to try as much as possible to attend a medical screening at least every quarter to be updated of their health status and by God grace they will live longer", he reiterated.
