President Akuffo-Addo commissions Kenyasi District Hospital

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo on Saturday, September 12th, 2020 commissioned a 68-bed general ward, Children’s Ward and Doctors’ accommodation at the Kenyasi District Hospital, for the commencement of healthcare provision to the people of the District.

The project which was spearheaded by the Asutifi North District Assembly was financed through the Assembly’s Mineral Fund, Newmont Ghana Gold Corp, and Newmont Ahafo Development Fund (NADeF).

President Akuffo- Addo said, “the hospital dream of the district has become a reality because of Newmont Ghana Gold Corp. They are doing a great job for Ahafo and Ghana as a whole. Hence Nananom should encourage the youth to employ dialogue when they have issues with the company and not result to wayward behaviours that disturb the work of the company.”

Paramount chief for Kenyasi Number 1, Nana Osei Kofi Abiri in his address, asked that the President should pay attention to ongoing projects in the district and assist in completing them.

Nana Osei Kofi also complained about the attitude of the contractor (Kofi Job Construction) who is working on the Hwidiem-Kenyasi highway and Kenyasi township roads saying, “They abandoned sight and upon hearing the news of your visit came back to work.

The president, however, responding to Nananom explained that the contractor works in phases that sometimes require a gap between them to ensure quality work done and ensured his government’s commitment to ensure quality road work is done throughout Ahafo Region.

Minister of Health and MP for Dormaa East, Hon. Kweku Agyeman Manu also addressed the durbar and asked the people of Asutifi North District to give Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo four more years to continue and complete his numerous investments in health and all other sectors across the country by voting for him in the upcoming December polls.
