Lawra town roads get facelift

The Municipal Chief Executive for Lawra in the Upper West Region, Mr. Martin Bomba-ire today observed the tarring of the Lawra Municipal Town roads.

He stated that apart from increased internally generated funds, the road construction could open the district to various investors who engage in new forms of business in the Municipality and beyond.

He called for restraint from people within the municipality, since the construction work might affect them in one way or the other and urged them to cooperate with the contractor so they could complete the work on time.

The MCE, appealed to the contractor to engage the teeming energetic jobless youth in the town and avoid the tendency of bringing laborers from other places, stressing, “we have the youth who are capable, don’t go and carry workers from Tamale to come and work.

The taring started today from the Lawra weekly market- Kulbugnour road, and expected to be continued with the Weekly market- Yikpee road among others.
