Lawra MCE tours Elecnor Company
The Municipal Chief Executive for Lawra, Lawra Muncipal Assembly, Mr.Martin Bomba-Ire, has paid a working visit to the Elecnor Company to acquaint himself with the extent of work on the ongoing solar farm project located along the Lawra - Nandom road.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Lawra, Lawra Muncipal Assembly, Mr.Martin Bomba-Ire, has paid a working visit to the Elecnor Company to acquaint himself with the extent of work on the ongoing solar farm project located along the Lawra - Nandom road.
The MCE and his team were taken round over 50 acres fenced project site. The consultant to the project explains to them the composition of the whole projects and how each component functions in the energy generation process.
Explaining to the team, the technical supervisor for VRA, Mr Bronya Solomon, said that the initial project design was 4MW but VRA conducted further technical design work and increased it to 6.5MW at no cost. He noted that, phase II is expected to the increase solar power supply to 10.5MW.
He stated that, unlike the Kaleo project which will be connected to the Wa substation directly, Lawra connection to the national grid will be directly on the lines feeding Lawra power, hence will make power in Lawra efficient and reliable.
Mr. Bomba-Ire further explained that, this solar farm was constructed using state of the art technology making it very efficient. He added that, the whole area is fitted with CCTV cameras for security and other reasons.
Addressing the workers who were largely local people, the MCE commended them for their diligence, hard work, good conduct and unity exhibited in line with their responsibilities at work and charged them to be ambassadors not only for their economic gains but to the whole of the Lawra municipality adding that, development endeavor better in peaceful and hospital environment.
This project comes with other amenities such as schools, clinics, jobs among others and our attitude towards the work is likely to impede the progress and realization of these amenities. He admonished them to use this opportunity as a learning experience especially with the kind of tools and equipment he sees them operating.
The site engineer for the project assured the MCE and his team that the project is about 80% complete and could be ready for commissioning in the first week of October, 2020.
The MCE expressed compliments on the company for their good work and steadfastness in bringing the project to the desire stage and encouraged them to continue to do their best to see that the good people of Lawra benefit from it.
