ASOKWA: DSWCD organizes workshop for SHEP and girl child coordinators

The Department of social welfare and community development has organized a training workshop for JHS School Health Education Program (SHEP) coordinators and Girl Child Coordinators within the Asokwa Municipality

19 JHS schools, 51 women and 14 men making a total of 65 participants attended the program

Participants were trained on gender based violence and the impact it has on them.

The regional SHEP coordinator Mr. Emmanuel Addo trained them on reusable pads, each participant was provided with materials to use for the training.

Participants were also trained on how to cut materials into desirable shapes and they were advised to use clean materials.

Facilitators also talked on the importance of reusable pads which includes but not limited to; sustainability, cost effectiveness, environmental protection

The program ended with a lot of participants able to sew their reusable pads.
