NADMO holds stakeholders meeting on natural disaster

The Asokwa Municipal Disaster Management and Prevention Institution (NADMO) in collaboration with Zoomlion, and the Environmental Health Department has held a durbar to deliberate on issues regarding indiscriminate waste disposal, encroachment of nature reserves, waterways and buffer zones.

The event which was held at Kaase Electoral Area in the municipality was on the theme; "A Disaster Free Environment is a Collective Responsibility."

The purpose of the stakeholder’s engagement is to prevent flood related disasters, spread of malaria, cholera and diarrhea and also ensure proper solid and liquid waste disposal in Kaase community and the Asokwa Municipality at large.


The Stakeholders were admonished to serve as disaster prevention agents in their respective communities since they are occupying influential positions and to always be on the alert since disasters do not announce their occurrence.


The Municipal NADMO boss disclosed that, due to the sensitization the organization has been doing, disasters in the Municipality have considerably reduced as compared to last year's.


Attended were Chiefs of the Kaase Traditional Council, representatives from the Christian and Muslim communities, Assembly Member of Kaase electoral area and his unit committee members, Kaase market women, management of Kaase abattoir, officials from the Asokwa Municipal Assembly representing the MCE Mr. Akwanuasah Gyima as well as management and Staff of Asokwa NADMO Secretariat under the Leadership of Eric Akosah and others
