ASOKWA: PWDs receive wheelchairs

The Asokwa Municipal Assembly through its Department of Social Welfare and Community Development, has made a presentation of forty-one (41) wheelchairs to some persons with disability to help facilitate their mobility.

The occasion, which was graced by the Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Akwanuasah Gyimah, the chairperson of the disability fund management committee, Madam Gifty Awatsi and the Head of department, Mr. Dickson Frimpong was organized at the forecourt of the Asokwa Municipal Assembly.

In his address, the MCE indicated that the donation is evident of the Government's renewed commitment to building a fair and an all-inclusive society, which ensures that all citizens have a fair share of the country's wealth regardless of their backgrounds.

Mr. Dickson Frimpong stressed that the donation of the wheelchairs will go a long way to facilitate the day to day movement of the PWDs, which is a precondition for the enjoyment of their fundamental human Rights and living in dignity adding that the intervention will assist the PWDs to become more productive.
