MP and DCE embark on community engagement

The 2nd Deputy Speaker of Parliament and Member of Parliament (MP)for Fomena Constituency, Rt. Hon. Andrew Amoako Asiamah together with the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Kusi Kwaku Eric and Management of the Adansi North District Assembly, Wednesday, 22nd May, 2024, embarked on community engagement to some communities in the District.

The team paid courtesy call on Nananom in the various communities they visited and revealed to them, some physical projects that the MP has partnered with the District Assembly to be undertaken in their respective communities in the coming months.

At Akokerri, the Hon. MP briefed the queen mother, Nana Serwaa Bruwaa II and the community members of the intention to rehabilitate the historical Akrokerri Community centre into a modern one with washrooms and over head tank to serve several purposes for the community.

He added that, there would be another construction in front of the community center to provide an open space to host outdoor events. He pleaded with Akrokerri market traders to peacefully relocate to a temporal site that will be allocated to them very soon to allow for the renovation of the Akrokerri market.

Nana Serwaa Bruwaa II commended the Hon. MP and his team for their good works and assured them of the support of the people of Akrokerri.

Nananom and the people of Dompoase welcomed the Hon.MP and his team at the Dompoase palace. Hon. Asiamah announced to Nanaom and the community members that, the major activity earmarked for Domopase is the construction of a Community Durbar Grounds.

Krontihene, Bosopim Kitikyie Apenteng II expressed gratitude on behalf of Nananom and the people of Dompoase for the kind gesture extended them. He lamented that, despite the contribution of Dompoase to the District Assemblies’ IGF, there has been no major developmental works in Dompoase and pleaded that, the community centre should be constructed as quickly as possible for commissioning as well as the Dompoase Astroturf field which has been under construction for some time now.
While at Fomena, the Hon. DCE briefed the Adansihemaa, Nana Amoanimaa Dede II on the projects the community will be benefiting from which included the construction of 1No. 16 seater w/c toilet with mechanised borehole with a 300Ltr overhead tank, the Construction of 4 bedrooms with living room and garage as DCE residence and the rehabilitation of two lecture halls at the Fomena Nursing and Midwifery Training College.

Nana Amoanimaa Dede II praised the team for the developmental works within the District but pleaded with the Hon. MP and the DCE as a matter of urgency to work on the Fomena inner roads for accessibility.

The team moved to the Fomena Nursing and Midwifery Training College for inspection of the lecture halls and handed over documents and construction plan to the contractor for immediate commencement of the project.
