Kusa Assembly man inaugurates HYNF foundation

The Assembly man for Kusa Electoral Area, Akwasi Afoawah in a colourful durbar has officially inaugurated the Help your Neighbour Foundation (HYNF) at Kusa in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region.

According to Mr. Afoakwah, he founded the foundation in 2021 with the primary aim of helping the youth who could not have formal education, to learn a trade so that, they could make ends meet and not to involve themselves in criminal activities. However, along the line the mission of the foundation became bigger because he was confronted with the issue of lobbying for jobs, school admissions and scholarship through the foundation to help people who needed these interventions.

Mr. Afoakwah added that, out of compassion for the sick and needy, he is hoping to mobilize enough funds to pay medical Bills for such people.

The Inaugural ceremony also witnessed the awards for teachers and students who performed outstandingly throughout the year 2022. Citations were presented to the teachers whilst students received learning materials.

He believes that teachers give out their best when their efforts are recognised and are motivated to do more for learners and so it is only appropriate to say "Thank you" to them in a special way. He explained that, learners are also being motivated to promote competition amongst them to achieve academic excellence.

A total of 25 students from KG 1 to JHS 3 were awarded for either being an outstanding or punctual student. Four headmasters and six teachers were awarded for their outstanding performances.

The high profile personalities who graced the occasion included Hon. Kusi Kwaku Eric, DCE, Adansi North District, Nananom from Kusa and other dignitaries.

The Assemblyman, Mr. Afoakwah who is a self employed mason is married and blessed with 4 children.
