2nd Deputy Speaker calls for collaboration between politicians and Nananom

The second Deputy Speaker and Member of Parliament for Fomena constituency, Rt. Hon. Andrew Amoako Asiamah has called on Nananom to collaborate with politicians to govern the country for development.

According to Hon. Asiamah, although Nananom are not to engage in active partisan politics as stated in the 1992 constitution of Ghana, they can work with government officials in bringing about development in terms of projects and programmes in their communities for the good of our communities.

The RT. Hon. Speaker made this call at the enstoolment of Kwaku Afoakwah, as the Abusuapanin of Adansi Dompoase and Chief of Kunka, a community in the Obuasi Municipality.

Kwaku Afoakwah who chose the stool name Abusuapanin Kwaku Ponko III has the duty of serving the Dompoase royal family as the Abusuapanin and also as a chief, presiding over Dompoase lands in the Obuasi Municipality with nine sub chiefs under him.

Samuel Kwaku Afoakwah is also the Eastern Regional Community Relations Officer of Minerals Commission of Ghana and the Chief Executive officer of Samshell Royal Company limited.

The new Kunkahene is also the CEO of Club 409 and a successful farmer. Nana has worked and assumed several positions including serving as Estate and Marketing Manager of Acheamfour group of companies and also a former Administrator of Kobedko ventures.
He holds Masters Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation (MSc), a BSc in Environmental Resource Management and Certificate in project Management.

Nana Dompoase Hene, Okofo Kwabena Bonsu who accepted the swearing of allegiance by Nana Ponko III, appealed to the Abusuapanin to work together with the Dompoase stool to implement developmental strategies and plans to lift the image of Dompoase. Nana Bonsu pledged his full support for Nana Ponko III and urged him to mount the stool with wisdom and love for all his subjects.

Dompoase Queen Mother, Kontihene, Akw)muhene,Akyeamehene and Ankobeahenr all took turns to strongly advice Nana Ponko III to take up his new responsibility with a clean heart and not to confuse his active partisan political life with royal duties.

Present at the ceremony were the Adansi North District Chief Executive, Hon. Kusi Kwaku Eric, the Obuasi Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Elijah Adansi Bonah and some other dignitaries.
