The motorbikes, purchased through the Assembly’s share of the common fund, forms part of government’s commitment to equip Assembly members to be able to carry out their duties in their various Electoral Areas.
Speaking at a short ceremony held at his residence, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr. Michael Sarkodie Baffoe urged the beneficiaries to adopt maintenance culture in order to enable the motorbikes last longer.
He also asked them to use the motorcycles for their rightful purposes, that is, attending and performing all assigned responsibilities in their respective communities and the municipality at large.
He added that, assembly members should also acquire license and also ride with care to prevent road accidents.
Mr. Sarkodie used the opportunity to appeal to assembly members to always channel matters of personal interest in the right direction instead of going to radio stations to discuss matters of such to the general public, adding that “my office is always open and welcoming to you all.”
Mr. Charles Gyinde, the Assembly Member for Busuama Electoral Area, who spoke on behalf of his colleague members, thanked the Municipal assembly for the support.
He assured the assembly to take good care of the bikes and promised to use them for their intended purpose to ensure the growth and de4velopment of the Municipality.
